Login and Security

  • Microsoft SQL Service

    • User Login using Microsoft Server technology

    • Users assigned to “Roles” that have pre-assigned rights to see or update data

    • Permissions assigned to data individual files

  • Login and User Identification by Organization,

    • Select Unit and Role within that unit for this session

    • Change selected connection

    • Review of all previous sessions

    • Verification of Personal data for this session

  • Audit trail of access to individual’s data files

  • Descriptions of sensitive procedures may be coded with other descriptions

  • Manage Electronically signed forms only

  • All accesses to patient records are recorded with who and what was done (required by law)

  • Security on how long after the Healthcare professional entered the data that the data can be changed.

  • No record is Updated…All updates are marked as “Changed” and a new copy of the new data is created. Every Update requires who, when, why the record was updated.

Programming

  • The InHCc System is written using Microsoft‘s latest application programming, using Visual Basic. Net  as the front end with a SQL back end data management system.

SQL/XML Compliant

  • SQL and XML standards. The system can be easily integrated in all current database design technology.

Network Maintenance

  • All computers/servers are “remotely managed” by the Centralized Service Center using Microsoft server application programs

Data Flow

  • All detail data is collected at the lowest level of the organization that actually provides the health care services and uses the resources. In most cases, this will be the local health care unit, but in some cases the intermediate level organizations also collects operating data.

  • Date transferred to Central Data Warehouse using MS Replication techniques over normal telephone lines or an Internet connection if available. No summarization of data occurs.

  • All data is stored in two locations, on the local server and again in the Centralized data warehouse. Data is available for any client  from the central data warehouse to any local unit for any client providing the user has the permission and authorization to view the data.

  • Highly skilled statisticians and management consultants perform analysis at the Central Service Center.

  • Management Reports including OLAP and Data Mining results are available to all levels through the Internet at the level of detail that is required.

Data Transfer

  • Date transferred to Central Data Warehouse using Microsoft S Replication techniques over normal telephone lines and/or Microsoft Data Transformation Services

  • InHCc was developed to make transfers when not connected to the Internet by using either a Telephone connection and Replication (Microsoft term for a type of date transfer) or “walk it in” with the data copied to a CD.

Data Structure

Reference Data is classified as either “Local” coded data or “International” coded data. International Standards are stored in “Look-Up” (“LU”) tables and their values (codes) can not be changed. This facilitates comparisons of data across location.

Mapping of codes from InHCc to the Local Organizational coding system is performed when data must be translated into a local coding system.

All events are given "Unique-Identifiers" such that data can be analyzed across locations.
