Introduction

The Order Entry is the most complicated screen in the InHCc HMIS. While there is a "General" Order form, there are also Order forms that are specialized for the type of order.

InHCc HMIS provides the following functions in order entry:

  • Allergy check
  • Contradictions
  • Alerts and Warnings
  • Location where order is to be processed
  • Type of Order (single, repeat, based on rules)
  • Priority
  • Program (time to start, time to finish, frequency, duration, etc)
  • Rules for starting, Rules for termination (discontinuing)
  • Special orders for the Healthcare Professional who processes the order
  • Special orders for the Patient
  • Reason for the order
  • Codes that may be used (more than one standard may be used)
  • Cost of process
  • Ordered by and signature for order (as well as any co-signature requirements)

The Process of the order is NOT done on the order. The process is a completely different form than the order.
