Introduction

InHCc HMIS is built around and for Healthcare Intelligence. (see InHCc Data And Data Analysis)

Not only It is important to access data but one must use that data intelligently

Most information systems have dealt with “Operational Processing” such as sales and finance…the “how to do what needs to be done” part of Managing an Organization, however in Healthcare, more importantly, we need to be more concern which “What needs to be done”.  We need to focus on the “Subject” of the process, the Individual. Healthcare requires Intelligences.

Healthcare Intelligences presents all processes what were done in the past up to the  current time and uses that information to spot trends and predict the future.

Common Functions of Business Intelligences is:

  • Analysis of past data

  • Data mining

  • Business Performance analysis (KPI)

  • Benchmarking,

  • Predicative Analysis

  • Reporting

Healthcare Intelligence requires that:

  • Data be collected on the “Subject”

  • Data be Integrated from a many sources

  • Date be converted into a form where it can be used

  • Knowing how to use that data to manage current healthcare needs and to be able to predict the future needs.

Collecting data is the easy part. Collecting data has been performed for centuries in almost every place on earth.  Developing lists of Indicators and forms seem to have been academics major occupation in Healthcare.

Data needs to be integrated from a variety of sources. Data needs to be compared to determine if “What is being performed” is the best way. Many variables affect healthcare and all of these variables need to be analyzed.

Most organizations collect a lot of data (well, at least a few of them do!) but it is neither on the right subject, nor in a form that can be used, nor do the members of the organization know how to use it to manage.
