Introduction

This page will be the evaluation of the project itself. It will include the problems and the solutions as they occur. Costing will be included and kept over time. These costs will be compared to the original budget figures.

Quality Evaluation

Quality Evaluation to determine that the System delivers what is was intended to delivery.

FAQ

There are many questions or objections that come up regarding this system over and over again. This page is an attempt to answer those questions.

It is too Expensive!

Costs can only be view by considering the total social cost. The statement is often made "the people do not get paid but $300 per year, how can you but a computer in the clinic that cost more than this?"  This is short sighted and does not consider all the costs to the community by not having the information to made informed decisions.

  • Social costs in not having the information may be even greater ( example HIV)
  • Better Client management
  • Better cost controls
  • Overall reduction in costs by providing quality care
  • Start with surveillance sites

It is too technical!

  • Easy to use
  • Point and Click
  • No computer knowledge needed at the user level

We will never be able to teach them how to use it!

  • What!

We will never use all the information!

Now data is rarely used as information because it is too hard to summarized and analysis. With a good information system, data is automatically formatted in a way that is easy to use and view.

  • Desire for information increases exponentially.
  • Designed for long term use
  • Modular. Use only what pertains to that user

It takes too long to input all the data!

Input data is only part of the total process. If data is not used then the input of the data is by itself a waste of time and money.  The "time" that it takes should be measured from the time that the data is collected to the time that the information is used. Only this time has meaning. Also

  • No need to create input but once
  • No redundancy of information
  • No need to create journals
  • No need to summarize
  • Once it is entered into the client's record the only thing that is needed is to change Only that information that changes
