Introduction

The Challenge

It was recently stated by the CEO of one of the largest healthcare organizations in the US that their research show that approximately 60-70% of the diagnosis made in the US by physicians were wrong! With this data, how is it to be that a health care organization analysis and manage the health care of their patients?

The InHCc HMIS helps to provide good care,  prevent bad care,  AND provide the ability to detect bad care.

The Solution

The InHCc Health Care Management Information System (InHCc HMIS) is a tool that provides the ability to integrate disparate data sets and to create "Business Intelligence" . These data sets consist of the information obtained from the normal interaction between the health care delivery system and the patient.

Features (General)

The InHCc HMIS was developed as a fully Integrated System.  While the InHCc HMIS focuses on management of care the most important part is the collection of that information at the point of care.

  • Completely Integrated System

  • Microsoft Windows format

  • Multiple language data

  • Scalable from one Healthcare Professional to Federal Health System

  • Module

  • Automatically coded data (users never see a code)

  • Microsoft Web based Reporting Services

Technology

Our InHCc Healthcare Management Information System (InHCc HMIS) Software Application, is built using the latest Microsoft's Visual Basic .NET version and is designed using Microsoft Health Framework as a model.

The InHCc HMIS uses Microsoft Windows' standard presentation interfaces that are intuitive and easy to use. The solutions uses the best of the current Microsoft Windows' Forms or Web-based and Server technologies. Users the world over are familiar with these features allowing users to be train easily and quickly.

“Business Intelligence” is fundamentally about providing the right information, at the right time, to the right individual…The right information can save the life of an individual or can substantially reduce his pain and suffering.

The advantages of integrating all clinical data, laboratory information, and research data into a single application are: enhanced availability, tighter control over security and protection of data and intellectual property. All this is attained with no need to develop and manage expensive interfaces.

The InHCc HMIS uses a scalable three-tier architecture design. This provides for easy conversion to any format required wither it is a Forms Based program, Web based, or a hand-held device. The design provides the ability for the system to be installed in locations where there is No Internet (in one of our locations, 30% of the clinical units do not even have electricity!), or the system can be scaled up to a National/International Enterprise System connecting to a Centralized data warehouse.

InHCc HMIS uses Microsoft Business Intelligent (BI) products extensively in our application products. Microsoft's Analysis Services and Data Mining are integrated into the system for analysis and research. Microsoft Reporting Services provides Web services for the presentation of Reports.

Using a single framework allows the institution to ensure compatibility between departments, reduces training costs, and provides an centrally located monitoring system.

The InHCc HMIS is readily adaptable for use over the Internet for larger organizations or for smaller organizations, the Windows Forms provide a richer and quicker response time for local use.

The application version is easily installed or updated over the Internet or DVD using the  Microsoft's "ClickOnce Security and Deployment" technology.

Connections, transformations and Integration of any external data store can be made using Microsoft's Integration Services.

The Application is being designed to be offered in "the Cloud" using Microsoft Azure platform (future project)
