Introduction

Information to manage an organization does not happen by itself. InHCc believes that it is the Financial Manager’s responsibility to collect, analysis, and present data to management in such a manner that the organization is able to accomplish its goals. It must be recognized that the Finance Manager is different than an Accounting Manager and the Finance Manager uses different tools to perform his function.

No one would expect managers to be able, or have the time, to perform the financial analysis that is required to run a modern organization. No one would expect managers to know everything about the tools required to perform this analysis. Expected Value Techniques, Simulation Analysis, Network Cost Budgeting, Linear Programming, On line analytical processing, data mining, or even a relational database may seem esoteric, yet, the latest books on hospital accounting will devoted a chapter to each of these topics.
